gun.deals Integration
List your catalog on gun.deals through an automatically generated offers feed, and see which orders came from the traffic it sends back.
Features
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Offers feed | An XML feed of your eligible products, kept current automatically |
| Eligibility checks | Products missing required data are held back rather than rejected at the far end |
| Referrer attribution | Orders arriving from gun.deals are tagged as such |
Prerequisites
Before listing, you need:
- An active gun.deals dealer account
- A published storefront on a custom domain
- Products with complete data — see Product Requirements
Setting Up
- Navigate to Plugins > Marketplace
- Find Gun Deals and click Activate
- Click Configure and copy your feed URL
- Email the feed URL to gun.deals, from the contact on their Dealers & Advertising page, so they can start polling it
Your feed lives at /gun-deals.xml on your storefront domain and refreshes on its own — you submit the URL once and gun.deals re-reads it. The feed is rebuilt at most once every 5 minutes, so a product change shows up within five minutes.
Product Requirements
An offer only lists if it carries the data gun.deals requires. Products missing any of it are skipped, and the plugin tells you which field is missing rather than failing silently.
Every product needs:
| Field | Requirement |
|---|---|
| UPC | A valid UPC/GTIN in the product’s Barcode field — 8, 12, 13 or 14 digits. gun.deals will not list an offer without one. An 11-digit value is treated as a UPC-A whose leading zero was dropped and padded back automatically. |
| Price | Greater than $0 |
| Name | A product name |
| Availability | Derived from your stock levels |
Ammunition additionally needs:
| Field | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Caliber | Caliber or gauge, for example 9mm Luger |
| Number of rounds | Total rounds sold at that price, for example 50 |
Only products visible on your storefront are eligible — anything left as a Draft is never included, and neither are event-backing products, which are sold through the event registration flow rather than as catalogue items. Stock level is not a requirement: out-of-stock products are listed with an out of stock availability rather than held back.
Attribution
When a shopper arrives from gun.deals and places an order, that order is tagged with gun.deals as its source, so you can measure what the listing actually returns. Attribution is matched on both the referring site and the campaign tags on the inbound link.
Troubleshooting
Products Missing from the Feed
The most common cause is a missing UPC — it is the one field gun.deals will not accept an offer without, and it is read from the product’s Barcode field. The plugin’s Configure modal counts how many products are missing a valid UPC and how many ammunition products are missing a caliber or round count; the product’s own page names the specific fields that particular product still needs.
For ammunition, confirm both the caliber and the round count are set. A round count on the pack rather than the total sold at that price will misprice your listing.
Feed Not Updating
- Confirm the plugin is still active — the URL 404s when it is not
- Allow up to 5 minutes: the feed is cached and rebuilt at most that often
- Verify the feed URL you gave gun.deals matches your current storefront domain — changing domains changes the URL
- Load the feed URL in a browser to confirm it returns XML
